On July 3rd, Cavanaugh, the air museum that's hanger is next door to Sam's work, puts on an air show at the Airport. I went with Sam to work and hung out in the break room and read till work was over
the planes that are in the hanger
Yes, sometimes they park cars in the hanger
the inside of the owners to the Rangers jet! :)
Sam with the plane he worked on
filling out his time card
they started pulling the planes out for the show
the air show started with parachuting out of a DC3
one guy had a smoke trail
this guy had a huge flag hanging from him :)
we heard that the flag weighed about 80 lbs
war birds doing aerobatics with smoke trails
they closed the tower down, so they set up their own 'ATC'
flying up-side-down! :)
we sat with one of Sam's co-worker and his wife and children :)
Levi and Lucas
this little guy, Wyatt, was born the day before our wedding! :) He didn't appreciate the loud noises...but when his Daddy put the earphones on him, he eventually fell asleep! :)
P-51 Mustang - this is Sam's favorite war bird! :)
we had pretty good seats!!!
Sam, Lisa, Levi and Griffin
Joe(another co-worker) playing catch with his son
the guy that drives the fuel truck chatting with Bill, Sam's boss
Bill, and his niece, Lisa
taking off in formation
flying in formation
they had two hot air balloons, but it was too windy, so they didn't go up
7 war birds in formation
flaring to land
An ultralight with fireworks! :)
Then a plane with more fireworks
Then there was a 30 min firework show off the end of the runway!
Sam with the P-51 Mustang :)
Traffic was crazy getting out of the airport, so we just sat in the bed of the truck and chatted with Bill till it cleared slightly....at about 11:30...but it was totally worth it!!! :D
